Manchester Labour - Manifesto Hackathon 2019
Every year Manchester Labour Party produce and work to a manifesto, over the last year we have made massive progress on the 2018 manifesto which includes allocating money to tackle poverty, improve roads and pay all home care workers the Real Living Wage.
This year we want to use the experience and expertise of Labour members in Manchester to help shape policy in the 2019 manifesto. This grassroots involvement is to encourage more engagement with policy in the city. It's not a formal Labour meeting and attendeeds are encouraged to work in the style that suits them - online, on paper or flitting between sessions.
What is a Hackathon?
There is no set definition or structure to a hackathon (or ‘hack’ for short), but there is broad agreement that it involves the bringing together of a groups of individuals with a cross section of skills, to focus on a particular theme or challenge and produce a new solution within a concentrated period of time. This solution may be a completely new product or the reworking of existing resources into a more efficient process or tool.
Purpose of the day
To enable Labour Party members from the 5 Manchester Constituencies to have an influence on the content of the manifesto for the 2019 local elections in Manchester. It is a space for members to engage in policy directly for the manifesto but also to explore more 'blue sky' thinking about the direction we want to see Manchester Labour move towards over the next few years.

Ticket Info
Once you've registered for a place you'll be contacted with your ticket nearer the time, as space is limited at the venue not everyone who registers may be able to attend in person. If that is the case you'll be able to get involved virtually on the day through Slack and Google Docs which we'll send out to all registrants before the event. If you'd like to attend only virtually you can register for an Online Only ticket.
Why all the questions?
We've asked a lot of questions but this is to ensure that we have a truly representative and diverse group of people from across the city.
