Mayor's Youth Council Innovation Challenge
The Innovation Challenge (formerly the Calgary High School Hackathon) is a competition for students from grades 8 - 12 that encourages participants to demonstrate their problem solving skills that incorporate technology.
At the event, teams of 3-4 will create websites, apps or business plans to communicate their solution for problems in Calgary that comes under the theme "Support and Connect" . Problems that participants can address may include homelessness, youth employment, active living or others.
With over $1500 in prize money as well as mentorship from the business community in Calgary, this is a must-go event for those who are interested in entrepreneurship, technology and problem-solving. No prior coding experience is necessary.

Location: Calgary Municipal Building (800 Macleod Trail SE)
Capacity: Space is limited to 100 participants.
Prizes: Over $1500 in prizing available!
Forming Teams: Teams must be between three and five people. You can register for the event as a team or you can register as an individual and you will be placed with a team.
