MD5: Hacking the Human Element

We are looking for developers, designers, military, and academic and industry partners interested in building and demonstrating product prototypes that incorporate wearable technologies designed for performance in austere environments such as remote medical facilities, conflict zones, and emergency/disaster response.

MD5, in collaboration with SOFWERX,  will host a technology hackathon on December 1-3 in Tampa that focuses on wearables and their applications.

On-site experts will prepare hackathon participants to compete by providing unique insights into the physical and mental challenges, remote communication needs, data collection / organization requirements, and the application of these technologies in austere environments.

Winning team(s) to receive up to $15K to further develop their concepts in collboration with MD5.

Registration is now open!

We are looking for hardware/software prototypes that address the challenge:

Physiological and Performance Monitoring

  • Remote triage and far forward medical monitoring

  • Human performance metric collection.

Data Analysis and Management

  • Reliable predictive analytics

  • Data management and visualization

Interaction & Response

  • Augmented devices for improved operator performance

  • Effective man/machine pairing

Registration is now open! Get your ticket today. If you are bringing a team with you to the hackathon, each team member will need to register separately for a ticket. (And if you are not part of a team yet, no worries, we will help teams to form at the start of the event.)
