METRO NORTH IT FRAIL and ELDERLY HACKATHON 2017 IS OPEN
We are NOW OPEN for Registration for the Second MNIT Hackathon 2017!
YOU’RE INVITED TO JOIN A TEAM or ATTEND AS AN OBSERVER
We are going to try and build six applications in one day, with a view to improve the outcome and experience for Frail and Elderly people visiting our Hospital and Health Services
The Hackathon is designed for collaboration with both our application developers and healthcare professionals.
Teams are forming around the six short listed topics to rapidly deliver solutions on the day and present for judging during the closing address:
TOPIC A - One Screen App TECH LEAD: Michael Walker, IDEA LEAD: Geoff Bryant
GOAL - Reduce duplication and increase availability of clinically relevant screening and assessment information to improve and better integrate patient care
TOPIC B - Rx Connect App TECH LEAD: Anaru Herbert, IDEA LEAD: Andrew Munns
GOAL -Timely communication of medicines on discharge to patients GP.
TOPIC C - Right Gear App TECH LEAD: Jason Finch, IDEA: Dr Andrew Mayo
GOAL - Enable the right equipment to be in the right place at the right time with the patients in the operating theatre.
TOPIC D - My Health Portal App TECH LEAD: Hayden Wiltshire, IDEA LEAD: Elizabeth Davis
GOAL - Allow patients to have access to relevant health data on their smart device and will be tailored to individual needs and conditions
TOPIC E - Where Do I Go App TECH LEAD: Mary Lazo, IDEA LEAD: Greg Jorgensen
GOAL - Reduce the anxiety of frail and elderly patients attempting to navigate their way around a complex facility through an easily accessible and user friendly hardware interface.
TOPIC F - Trigger Happy App TECH LEAD : Laurence Harvey, IDEA LEAD : Gail Corrigan
GOAL - Provide a means for loved ones to provide helpful information to clinicians about patient triggers, routines and soothing strategies
Teams can be made up of:

Non-technical – Business, Marketing, PR, Documentation, Presentation & Preparation

Designers – Graphic Design, UX/UI
We are looking to fund the winning entry to complete the concept and also make the solution available to other participating QH developers.
A limited edition t-shirt to signify your official involvement will be provided on the day and lunch will be provided to participants with morning and afternoon tea including barista coffee for general consumption.

This Hackathon is a free event for registered Metro North Hospital and Health Service employees. Attendees are welcome to participate in development; view scheduled local system demonstrations; or to observe.
RULES
All projects presented at the Hackathon will remain the intellectual property of Qld Health. Applications Development will provide subject matter and technical support on the day. Qld Health Staff ID Badges are mandatory for registration and are to be worn on the day. More details will be provided to registrants closer to the event.
