Microsoft Machine Learning Workshop

Interested in Artificial Intelligence? Predict the future with Machine Learning.

On June 30th and July 7th, join Microsoft’s Canada’s Technical Startup Lead & Technical Evangelist, Adarsha Datta for #MLW16 and learn how to execute experiments using Azure Machine Learning Studio.

Students will receive a Launch Zone Machine Learning Certificate of Participation after two sessions!

Session 1:

Predict the future with Machine Learning:

Machine Learning has become a buzzword in industry. The power of predictive analytics is used in medical research, marketing, finances, professional sports and more! In this session you will learn how to execute machine learning experiments using Azure Machine Learning Studio. No previous experience with programming or data science is required. Those who do have experience are welcome to attend and explore the toolset. In this session you will learn: how to use Azure ML studio to take a dataset to train a model; how to evaluate the accuracy of a trained model; and how to expose your trained model as a web service so you can create a website or application that makes its own predictions. Don't just come listen, bring your laptop and try it yourself!

Session 2:

The Machine Learning Challenge:

Machine Learning is a powerful tool, and if you attended our first session you learned the basics, now it’s time to really dig in and try it for yourself. What do you do when the accuracy of your predictions doesn’t meet your business needs? What can you do differently with the data or the algorithms to improve your results?  Ideally you attended the first session to learn the basics, but if you missed it you can complete this tutorial to catch up on what you missed. In this session we will challenge you to train a model to get higher accuracy, get hands on and make changes to improve the results. Bring you laptop and get ready to run your own Machine Learning experiments!
