Connected Businesses
Create a solution that integrates IoT and the corresponding data that can inform small or medium business owners on how to improve and create more efficient businesses.
Buying Your First Home
Create a product that will help millennials prepare for buying their first home.
A Community on Your Side
Build a solution that brings Nationwide Members in the same community together during a Catastrophe. (e.g. assist those you can’t connect with Nationwide for help, assist those who are unaware of what to do in a catastrophe situation)

Nationwide APIs:
Customer
- Returns basic customer information such as name and address along with insurance policy types (Home, Auto Renters)
Bank Account
- Returns bank account type and balance
Bank Loan
- Returns loan type, amounts, balance, and payment details
Bank Account Transaction
- Returns all the account transactions for a bank account, with the amount credited or debited, and a category (Restaurant, Loan, Store, Bill, Paycheck, Other) of the transaction.
Supportive Technology and AWS Credits:
- Each participant will receive $100 in AWS credits
- A limited amount of Amazon Echos will be provided for your use, but feel free to bring any supportive tech you need.

Judging Criteria
Each submission will be scored in each round based on the following criteria with a minimum score of 0 and maximum score of 20 points, with the final score being the average of the judges’ scores:
- Simplicity (5 points): Is the application simple to use and can the team explain it clearly in three sentences or less?
- Creativity (5 points): How creative was the team in developing an innovative solution for the challenge?
- Impact (5 points): Did the team create an application that can have a real and valuable impact?
- Design (5 points): Was the UX/UI intuitive and appealing?
Rules
- Teams of up to 5 participants are allowed. All team members must have completed the participation agreement to compete.
- You may not being your project until the competition officially begins,. Please don’t come in and build on top of previous projects if you want to win.
- Teams have full ownership of everything they build and are free to do with it as they wish whether they win or not.
- Winning teams will be subject to a code-review at some point following the event or immediately before the competition ends.
- Participants of this hackathon must be 18 years or older, or have reached the age of majority in the relevant jurisdiction.
