New Ireland Hackathon - Meetup
HOW OFTEN do you think about your retirement? Life Insurance? Or Investments?
-
Current millennials will live longer than any generation.
-
You may easily live a third of your life in retirement.
-
You could also be the first generation whose lifetime earnings will be lower that your parents.
New Ireland Assurance and DCU Ryan Academy have partnered to deliver a weekend Hackathon - #NewIrelandHackathon - and have set a challenge to answer some of the above questions:
Challenge: "How to make insurance, investments & pensions
relevant to my Generation?”
When: Friday 25th to Sunday 27th Nov 2016 (incl)
Where: The Dodder Suites, RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
To prepare for this Hackathon, we would like to invite those of you aged 18 to 35 who are interested in this challenge to attend a "meetup" event in Baggot Plaza on Wednesday 16th November from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm.
This "meetup" will give attendees who are interested in participating in the #NewIrelandHackathon on Nov 25th a chance to find out more about what's involved in the Hackathon? Hear about emerging trends in the insurance sector as well as being a great networking opportunity.
"Meetup" Speakers include:
Eoghan Stack - Chief Executive Officer, DCU Ryan Academy. Eoghan will MC the evening.
Brian Corish - The Chief Customer Officer, Bank of Ireland: Brian will walk through changes in the digital landscape, focusing on the financial industry.. Brian will also be a judge on the finale day of the hackathon, so attendees at this event will also find out what he expects to see from the projects!
Liz Flynn, People & Customer Experience Manager, New Ireland Assurance – Liz will give you the background to New Ireland Assurance – who they are and what they do. She will also delve into the challenge they are presenting to the Hackathon audience – “How to make insurance, investments & pensions relevant to my Generation?”
Gene Murphy, Resident Entrepreneur, Bank of Ireland - Gene will share his breadth of experience of organising, and taking part in, hackathons and will discuss the value you gain from taking part in hackathons.
Paddy Quinlan - DCU Ryan Academy - Hackathon Co-Ordinator: Paddy will explain what's involved with participating in our upcooming Hackathon weekend, how best to prepare for the weekend as well as answering any questions you have about the event itself.
