NumFOCUS Open Data Science Inclusion Sprint

Organized by NumFOCUS

Open Source Inclusion Sprint - Beginners Welcome!

On Friday, 10/26, the NumFOCUS DISC Program (Diversity & Inclusion in Scientific Computing) will be hosting an Open Data Science Hackathon in NYC.

The goal of the event is to lower the barrier to entry for open source contributions in the data science space. We’ll be hacking on JupyterLab, the next-generation web-based interface for Project Jupyter, and have been collaborating with core contributors to the project to curate an appropriate issue list and be onsite for questions and trouble-shooting during the event itself.

We’ll start off the day at 8:30am with an optional workshop introducing the project and the open source contribution workflow, then spend the rest of the day hacking.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided, but you will need to bring your own laptop.
