NUS Data Science Student Challenge

The NUS Data Science Student Challenge is part of a global series of Hackathons. These events are designed to ignite a passion for the amazing things made possible by Data Science and to help students develop the skills necessary to harness the power of analytics.

A variety of learning resources will be made available and the hackathon will suit students with a background in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Analytics and Math. This event is open to students only, who will work in teams of 3-4.

With amazing prizes, workshops, and t-shirts for all participants, it’s a great opportunity to build your skills, meet other top students, have fun and learn. The NUS Data Science Student Challenge is a collaboration between NUS Students' Computing ClubNUS and Microsoft.

How much does this event cost?

Nothing!

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes, you need to be over 18 and a current student. Don't forget your student ID!

What is a hackathon?

Hackathons are events where people compete to build cool projects in under 24 hours. All skill levels are highly welcome, don't be intimidated.

Do I need to have a team?

You're welcome to make a team before the event, but loads of people come without a team. We'll help everyone find a team at the start of the event. Teams should be of 2-4 people.

Will there be food?

Absolutely, and lots of it!

What time should I arrive?

We'll be putting up a schedule soon.

Are you reimbursing travel?

No, we are unable to reimburse travel at the moment.

What should I bring?

A laptop is essential. Bring all the chargers you need, cables and anything else you need. Since the event runs overnight, you might want to bring some clothes and toiletries!
