Open4Policy - Policy Hackathon

Organized by

In the spirit of Open Government, the IOG is hosting an open "policy hackathon" called Open4Policy. The "Open4" stands for 1) Open Government, 2) Open Access, 3) Open Data and 4) Open Invitation. The aim of the hackathon is to help promote Open Government by providing Open Access to our policy development processes and by using Open Data from the Government of Canada to solve a policy problem, all while extending an Open Invitation to anyone from the policy community that would like to participate, either online or in person.  (You do not need to be a coder to participate, all policy enthusiasts are welcome!) The policy problem to be tackled will be unveiled the morning of the Hackathon, and the participants themselves will be the ones to determine parameters of the end product. The only hard requirements of the Hackathon are that it be as open as possible. The end result and working materials will be put up on the IOG's website, or wherever the group of "policy hackers" (including you!) decides the work will have the greatest impact. Register here if you plan to attend in person for part, or all, of the day.
