Parks & Webcreation Hackathon
Join us for a fun design thinking workshop, led by the Park Youth Collaborative’s Youth Advisory Council, to ideate and prototype mobile apps or websites that will further connect Bay Area young adults of color ages 14-26 to resources and opportunities in the Golden Gate National Parks. Using design thinking, this hackathon will bring young adults together with designers and developers to find engaging solutions to youth-focused topics such as recreation, career development, conservation, community building, health, education, and arts. Your ideas and prototypes will be used to help build and develop future technological solutions in the park.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This event includes a resource fair during lunch. Participants will receive awesome park swag and prizes!
Participants must be ages 14-26 to register. We highly encourage young adults who've participated in park programs, never participated in park programs, interns, and young adult park staff to participate. If you're interested in volunteering, being a team mentor, team designer or developer, or resource fair presenter please fill out our volunteer form here to sign up instead of registering through eventbrite.
PRIZES & GIVEAWAYS!! Prizes included $250 for 1st place team, $150 for 2nd place team, and awesome raffle prizes including Walt Disney Family Museum Tickets, Slide Ranch Harvest Celebration Tickets, Friends of Golden Gate FOGG Outdoors Swag Bag, and movie tickets.
