Create Advanced Tech Solutions for the sports industry
Qatar SportsTech is calling for Doha’s best and brightest for our fourth Hackathon in Doha. Join us on the 27th of February when we bunker down for 48 hours to solve some of the sports industry’s most pressing challenges.
Where is it happening?
At the Qatar SportsTech Office in the Qatar Sports Accelerator Facility in Aspire Zone.
What will you be hacking?
You will be hacking away at one of the most challenging and interesting industries in Doha: the sports industry.
We are looking for solutions that will make the World Cup 2022 the most technologically advanced sporting event in history. These are the categories for your inspiration:
The Team & Athlete - Includes all initiatives that will improve the core product: the sports itself.

The Fan - Includes all initiatives that will improve participation in sports, the experience and engagement of fans both in-stadium and through (digital) media as well as the overall management of clubs and federations.

Who can apply?
We are looking for thinkers, hackers, marketers, creatives and visionaries with an entrepreneurial spark. If you can relate, then you're it! Whether you are studying, working a full-time job or free-lancing, it doesn't matter - we like you for your brain, passion and skills.
You are either a:

What's in it for you?
Hands-on startup experience
The QST hackathon is a unique chance to test your skills and get hands-on experience with some of the most pressing challenges in the world of Sports. The event will provide you with the perfect setting to match with like-minded individuals and form a team for your startup. During the 48 hours of the event, you will receive feedback and mentoring from top-tier industry experts and entrepreneurs.
Cool prizes (to be disclosed at a later stage).
The final winners of the Hackathon will be presented with exposure, network and prizes through QST's partnerships, that will help them develop their businesses further towards commercial success and grow long after the event has ended.

The deadline to apply is Monday, February 24th at 11:59pm. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted on Tuesday, February 25th.
FAQs
Do we need to have an idea confirmed prior to the event?
Though it is an advantage, you don't need to have a confirmed idea prior to the event. The hackathon will start with an ideation phase where you will be able to form your ideas in collaboration with the other hackers, hipsters and hustlers.
Can I join with a ready-made team?
Yes! On the Eventbrite registration, click on "Team" instead of "Individual" and follow the steps. You will need to invite your members to the team you've created.
Can I join as an individual?
Yes! On the Eventbrite registration, click on "Individual" instead of "Team" and follow the steps. You will be grouped in a team on the first day of the Hackathon event. This would be done post-ideation phase, where you would join members who share the same vision and passion.
Will I really be working for 48 hours straight?
That is entirely up to you and your team. We provide you with the space to work overnight if you want to or you can come back the next morning - you decide how to manage your time!
