Calling problem solvers, innovators and entrepreneurs. Grindrod Bank Limited is hosting the RE-IMAGINE Hackathon on 28th-30th September 2018. This is a 36-hour event that will run from Friday 10:00am to Sunday 15:00pm, including judging and prize giving.
The Challenge
Within the guidelines of the theme; RE-IMAGINE A FinTech Future, you are encouraged to challenge yourselves to innovate without limits and push boundaries; to create something that brings positive change to solving real problem.
Team entries of between 3 and 5 team members of any age, gender and skill level are invited.
Hackathons are the epitome of innovation and due to the time limits imposed, rapid development and constant challenges adds to the excitement of the event. Your team will be provided with a developer key to access Grindrod Bank's Open Banking API upon registration.
Prizes
Prizes to the value of R50,000 will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
First Prize: R25,000 Second Prize: R15,000 Third Prize: R10,000
Support
You will have the opportunity to get to know our carefully selected mentors and judges, who will be onsite for the duration of the event to offer their support; ideation to implementation and launch of products/solutions. In addition, network with other professional developers, designers and entrepreneurs, including event guest speakers.

Judging
Projects will be judged based on the following criteria, with a total of 5 points per criteria.
Fundability: How fundable is this idea? Is there potential for a sustainable business model?
Execution: How well was the project executed and explained? Did it work?
UI/UX: Beyond design, was the end-to-end user experience for the solution considered?
Originality: How original, creative or unique is the idea?
Scalability: How scalable is the solution? Will it make an impact?
