Rep. Swalwell's 2nd Annual App Challenge: CA-15 Hackathon
Rep. Swalwell, in coordination with knodemy, a mentor-based coding academy, will host the 2nd annual Congressional App Challenge in California's 15th Congressional District. Students of all coding experience levels are welcome to join this two day hackathon - January 9th, 9 am - 5 pm and January 10th, 9 am - 5 pm - including workshops to help teach students Java programming and other skills for developing apps on the Android environment. A winning app will be selected at the CA-15 Hackathon and displayed in the United States Capitol and on the U.S House of Representatives website.
Established in 2013, the Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide event that allows U.S. high school students to create and exhibit their software application, or “app,” on mobile, tablet, or computer devices. All eligible submissions in Rep. Swalwell's App Challenge must be developed at the CA-15 Hackathon. Students that live or attend school in the 15th Congressional District may participate individually or as members of teams determined by the organizers. The individual or group winner of the hackathon will be offered a summer internship by knodemy.
Please contact Rep. Eric Swalwell's district office at (925) 460-5100 with any questions.
