SafeHack 2017

This will be the first Information Security Hackathon hosted by Geekulcha, its sponsors and partners under the theme “SAFE HACK”

It's a 30 hours challenge that gathers Geeks under one roof to solve challenges using Cyber Security knowledge. It is a great opportunity to showcase skills while networking and having fun. Mentoring will be provided to the Geeks by Security professionals throughout the hack

A session will be held at the beginning of the hack to introduce safe coding principles, and explain how the software and hardware can be used against the business (developer) and its customers. The hackathon gives focus to SECURITY and thus functionality will play a small role in judging criteria.

A “Capture the Flag” challenge will be set up and available for the Geeks to experiment with during coding breaks

Important notices:

• Please Note: No cyber hacking of any other contestants, projects, laptops or devices is allowed.  Any attempts will result in disqualification. The SafeHack contest is only open to beginners (hackers who do not work for or in security at any level).
• Participants must bring their own machines for the hackathon and it is advised that a pre-developed application is brought to the challenge in order to use the hackathon to enhance the security features.
