Satori Live Data Hackathon

In an age when everything from media, social networking, and communication happens live, it’s time hackathons caught up. Developers, designers and entrepreneurs are invited to team up and compete for up to $40,000 USD in prizes!

Satori provides a fully managed PAAS (platform-as-a-service) which enables hackers to create hacks that connect, process and react to streaming live data at ultra-low latency. Use SDKs or APIs and Live Messaging service to publish streaming live data from your app, and/or subscribe to streaming feeds from our library of open data channels and then shape the data with SQL-based streamviews that provide Live Discovery. You can also use streambots to integrate custom logic directly into data streams with Live Reactions.

The possibilities are endless, but the challenges are specific.

Challenge: The winning smart city application will utilize Satori’s messaging platform and advanced features to provide valuable, actionable insights into making transportation services more efficient.

Satori Live Data Hack Challenge:

Challenge: The team who builds a live data application that best uses Satori’s live open data feeds, messaging platform and advanced features will receive the following:

Judging Criteria
Each submission will be scored in each round based on the following criteria with a minimum score of 0 and maximum score of 25 points, with the final score being the average of the judges’ scores:

 

• Usage of Satori Technology (5 Points):  Teams MUST use the featured API in their product to win. For each additional API or Satori tech used, additional points will be added.
• Simplicity (5 points): Is the application simple to use and can the team explain it clearly in three sentences or less?
• Creativity (5 points): How creative was the team in developing an innovative solution for the challenge?
• Impact (5 points):  Did the team create an application that can have a real and valuable impact?
• Design (5 points):  Was the UX/UI intuitive and appealing? Does the app demonstrates high throughput design architecture.
