    Join SeamlessGov (in partnership with HackerNest and Rise New York) for the inaugural event of an on-going speaker series entitled “Diversity is Beautiful”. We will explore the challenges many of us face in the tech industry as we strive to foster inclusive working environments that encourage and promote diversity. Female Empowerment: This panel discussion will focus specifically on challenges faced by women in the tech industry. Topics may include: how to navigate obstacles, diffuse discriminative workplace behavior, and better empower our female coworkers along the way.  Our Panelists Ilana Sufrin – Software Developer at Refinery29, Inc.  Meg Hewitt – Director of Sales at Handshake Corp. ABOUT OUR PANELISTS: Ilana Sufrin Ilana is a Software Engineer at Refinery29 and has worked on several major products ranging from native mobile features to desktop applications. Refinery29 is a leading digital-media company with a focus on millennial (and millennial-minded) women with a global audience footprint of over 500 million across all platforms.  Ilana graduated from NYU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Metropolitan Studies, and Masters in Computer Science. Meg Hewitt Meg is an Enterprise Sales Leader, Coach, and Trainer, as well as a Director at Handshake, a B2B eCommerce and mobile commerce solution transforming wholesale distribution. She is also a Founder and Co-Organizer of the NYC Sales Development Meetup Group. Meg has a Bachelor's Degree from Elon University in Strategic Communications and International Studies. Flavia Bento de Faria Flavia is the Director of Growth and Programs at Findyr. Businesses use Findyr for market research, due diligence and economic data. She is also the New York Regional Board Co-Chair for Indego Africa, a non-profit with the mission to empower and uplift artisan women in Africa through employment opportunities and education. Flavia has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Barnard College, as well as a Masters in International Relations and Affairs from Columbia University. Ashley Gushue Ashley is a Product Operations Manager at Google. She has been with them since April 2010 where she has also worked as a Senior Media Manager and AdTech Specialist. Ashley has a BA in Advertising, Psychology, and International Studies from Penn State University.
