Seattle GiveCamp 2017

Seattle GiveCamp is a hackathon for good where tech volunteers will be developing mobile apps for nonprofit organizations in the Seattle area. This year, we have decided to pre-select the development platform, which will be Xamarin -- a platform for mobile development (https://www.xamarin.com/). We anticipate developing mobile apps for about 10-15 needy nonprofits this year.

You do not have to have mobile development experience with Xamarin to be a tech volunteer. Of course, if you do already, that's great. All you need is some programming experience (unless you are serving in a supporting web design or project management role) and a desire to learn.

As our mobile projects require small, dedicated teams, Seattle GiveCamp is asking technical volunteers to pay a $10 fee to secure a place at this year's GiveCamp. In return, we will provide training in Xamarin, lots of free food & drink, networking opportunities, a snazzy t-shirt, and a surprise gift. Prior to the GiveCamp weekend, we will host several in-person Xamarin workshops. Alternatively, we will provide access to self-guided online Xamarin training.

In case you are wondering, the $10 fee will be distributed to the nonprofits that we will be helping at the event since our sponsors will be covering the cost of the event itself.
