SOCAL MICROSOFT INFLUENCERS MIXER

Summer is at its peak. Mercury is rising. Really we need some break from work and emails and meetings, and get a chance to meet folks in our local communities in a more casual setup.

We are very excited to host Socal Microsoft Influencers Mixer party, and you are invited.

This would be a fun event, we can all come together, enjoy a beer or two with some yummy appetizers and migle with so many Microsoft community Influencers in our area. We will also have presence from SoCal Microsoft Azure User Group, Sharepoint User Group, Dotnet User Group and many more.

Sounds exciting? Okie one more interesting update. Finally SoCal Microsoft Azure User Group has found its new home for couple of coming months, We are moving to facility near UC Irvine, its called TheVineOC by Real Office Centers located at 5151 California Ave, Suite 100, Irvine CA 92617, http://www.realofficecenters.com/the-vine-oc-irvine/ keep an eye for upcoming Sept monthy meeting we are changing the day of the month as well.. Okie enough user group stuff.. lets talk party again..

How can you join: Simply buy the ticket on Eventbrite and show up dressed casually, with plenty of business cards to network with folks.


Important: Why is this ticket paid? SoCal Microsoft Azure User Group has never charged me for anything before, is it changing? Is my food and drink covered with this ticket price?

At the Mixer, you would buy your own food and drinks and is not covered by Ticket.

Its important for us to be as transparent with you as we possibly can and we have been doing it since begining. We never charged our user group members for attending the meetings, or expensive parking at MS office in Irvine or food & drinks, or even those wonderful prizes at Hackathons we hosted or those giveaway Tshirts and other gifts. So why we are charging for the mixer event. Well few reasons and I will do my best to explain. Our User Group has grown from about 11 membres to 532 members today as i write this email all this growth in very short time, Thanks to you. With organizing meetings at multiple locations for such a large group comes challenge of finding sponsors, not just any sponsor but someone who believe in what we do, who loves Azure as much as we do, Who want to see the community grow. So far we have been very lucky to find sponsors who unconditionally supported us at every stage. And we appreacite it very much, A big thanks to our Sponsors. Going forward we want to register a 501(c) organization (in simple terms a not for profit organization, that is tax exempt) so we can pass on tax benefits to our sponsors in return of their sponsorship and also seek sponsorships at a larger scale in a more organized way, also it gives us a presence more than a great group and gives us identity.

You must be wondering this is great but still why are we charging for the event. We need to raise about $2500 to get through the process of registering the 501(c) The funds raised from this mixer event would contribute towards that fee, Would we be able to raise that fund? not sure but we seek your support to spread the word, make this event successful, have fun, network with influencers and help us raise funds to register 501(c)
