Social Storm- 24 hour Virtual Hackathon

Social Storm facilitates the connection of passionate young people, to allow them to collaborate on finding innovative solutions to global issues. You will come together with international colleagues using virtual communication technology.The 24 hour hackathon will involve over 15 universities and their students tackling two global issues; food security and sustainable housing.

  • Students will be allocated to teams of a minimum of 6 members.
  • Teams will consist of members from 3 different universities.
  • Teams will be encouraged to use a variety of online platforms to communicate effectively.

Social Storm is an intensive and challenging, but enjoyable experience and is open to students from all disciplines to enhance your personal development.

This event is organised by BSEEN (Birmingham Skills for Enterprise and Employability Network), part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, a student and graduate start-up programme.

It is a collaborative initiative between Aston University, Birmingham City University, Newman University and University College Birmingham. BSEEN is available to students studying at these universities and graduates within the last five years from any university, living in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP area.
