Spacehack: The Refugee Journey
Spacehack is a 24 hour hackathon that addresses the question "how can technology make living conditions better for refugees?"
Together with our partners, Facebook, Factory, Techfugees, REDI School of Digital Integration, and Welcome-SE, we are flying in Europe’s best designers, coders, architects and urban planners (with and without refugee status) to discover how technology can improve living conditions for displaced people around the world.
You can apply for an invitation and free travel on the website
We've selected one of the coolest locations in Berlin to inspire hackers create innovative solutions to help refugees quality of life in their adopted surroundings. By combining the best in class technology and social activist organizations across Europe we aim to tackle real challenges migrants face in their journey.
Please make sure to apply on the website in addition to RSVPing here!
Share Your Space Problems Along the Refugee Journey
There are many points along a refugee's journey where space negatively affects their goals. Along with our partners we are working with people who have made this journey and asking them to share their stories and pain points anonymously so we can come up with real solutions together. These stories will be discussed by hackathon participants on our Facebook event page.
If you are you an asylum-seeker, aid worker or expert who has any story, big or small, to tell about a frustration you've faced on this journey please share it with us below.
