is Spotless' Internet of Things and Data themed hackathon, powered by Startupbootcamp and hosted at the MCG.

Hackathon Theme

Develop an IoT or data solution that will enhance Spotless' customer experience in one of the below key challenge areas.
 
1. Catering and Food Services
2. Facility and Asset Maintenance 
3. Cleaning and Waste Management
4. Security
 
We are seeking Melbourne’s burgeoning start-ups and University students to come up with new Internet of Things (IoT) or data tech solutions in the above challenge areas.


What will YOU learn?

You will have the opportunity to understand in depth some commercial business problems and look at how IoT and Data Tech solutions can be used to solve them.  This will give you insights into how to devise solutions for commercial customers and generate new ideas that may turn into a business!
 
You will also have the opportunity to work with some great mentors and technology.
 
Our technology partners for the event include:

- 3D printers

$10,000 cash prize for the best team
 
$1,000 cash prize for each of the four finalists

Business and Technology Focus

We are looking for multi-disciplinary teams so that we have a balance between business viability of the solution and an elegant technical solution.

Our judging criteria are therefore balanced as follows:

  • Lean Canvas (similar to Business Model Canvas)
  • Solution
  • Video
  • Presentation

If you’re in a team already (max 6), let us know your team name when registering. If your team is from a corporate or a start please put in your company name as well.

If you’re an individual, don’t worry - you’ll have the opportunity to join or create a team either at our Launch Event @ 5pm on Thursday 17th Nov or first thing on the morning of the Hackathon.

Where do I get detailed information on the Hackathon?

Once you have registered, please create an account for your team on DevPost.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is no parking at the event. Please use public transport or Uber to arrive

What can/can't I bring to the event?

You will need to bring all your own equipment. We will be supplying access to AWS IoT platform and IoT communications hardware kits from Sigfox and Cradlepoint - see DevPost site for this information.

Will food and drink be provided?

Yes, we will make sure you have plenty to eat and drink!
