Startup Grind Ft. Lauderdale Hosts Amanda Anthony (FlyInStyle)

    Amanda Anthony, FlyInStyle

After many successful years in sales, marketing, and leadership roles at Black & Decker and Procter & Gamble, Amanda Anthony founded FlyInStyle.  FlyInStyle has developed a mobile application and content management platform focused on improving the airport traveler’s experience by matching promotions and events based on personal interests.

The team has been working diligently with their network to ensure they are building a product to serve not only the traveler, but all key stakeholders in the airport space: airports, airlines, travel retailers, restaurants, brands, etc.  So far it has been a hit, with several retailers and brands jumping onboard as partners during development and beta testing.  The app went live in the app store in 2014 and is currently refining technology and increasing capability with the expansion of beacon technology.

FlyInStyle was selected into the Venture Hive Accelerator in Miami, Florida in January 2013 and into the RevTech Labs / QC Fintech Accelerator in Charlotte, North Carolina in March 2015.  The Company secured a partnership with Miami Dade College (MDC) in early 2013, working on several projects with the MDC faculty and students.  FlyInStyle won 2 awards at the Wearable World Hackathon in San Francisco in June 2014: “Best Business” from Gogo and “Best Use of API” from MasterCard Simplify Commerce.  FlyInStyle also won third place at TiECon in Tampa, Florida in Fall 2014.  FlyInStyle team was selected as a semi-finalist in eMerge 2014 and 2015 in Miami, Florida.  Amanda and the FlyInStyle team are passionate not only about travel, and building an amazing company to serve its customers, but in giving back in the local community in South Florida.  Amanda has been published on Simpliflying, the leading airline-marketing consultancy and in various travel retail trade publications.
