Tech & Data Workshop - HDB Cool Ideas Hack
(We've received an overwhelming response for this workshop, and we appreciate your interest. This workshop is currently full. But fret not! We've set up an identical workshop on the following day, Wednesday, 22 June. At the Tech & Data Workshop by IBM Bluemix, you will get introduced to the Bluemix Platform and learn neat ways to create an amazing cloud-based solution.)
At the Tech & Data Workshop, Tuesday, 21 June, you'll be introduced to the technologies, platforms, and datasets that will be available to you at the HDB Cool Ideas Hack. Hear from our technology partners about the awesome platforms you can use to bring your idea to life. Also, hear from HDB representatives about the datasets they're releasing especially for this hackathon!
The hackathon will centre around the following challenges:
- Foster neighbourly ties: How can we leverage innovative technologies to enable, amplify and celebrate neighbourliness? How does neighbourliness in a ‘Sharing Economy’ work?
- Connect residents to the news they want: What tools can be adopted to make better use of available information and update residents on local news, needs and activities? What new data sources, like sensors in a “smart estate”, can we tap into?
- Make HDB living greener: How can we equip residents with knowledge on best practices and a better understanding of our environmental impact? How can technology, like Internet of Things, help monitor these practices and provide insights on how well we’re doing?
Also, don't forget to check out the Themes & Insights Workshop for a deeper look at the hackathon challenges, and the Community Design Workshop, for a detailed ideation exercise based on human-centric design, to help you start thinking about your idea.
