Organized by
Tech For UK Hackathon - Don't let Farage win!
A bigger voter turnout means a win for Remain!
Many commentators are saying that in the absence of a second referendum, the EU elections will be a quasi-referendum on EU membership.
That's why it's so important we use technology to "get out the vote"!
Join the Tech For UK - EU Elections Hackathon!
This weekend!
10.30am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday
Food and drinks provided!
Address: The address will be Central London (near Soho), but only released to ticket holders.
best wishes

Details:
Our aim will be to increase turnout at the European Parliament Elections in the UK by creating tools that:
- can go viral online
- encourage people to register for a postal vote before 5pm on 8th May
- encourage people to vote in-person
- encourage people to give us their data in return for reminders about key dates
AIM: To exceed typical turnout which is usually around 30%
APPROACH:
Encourage people to register to vote, particularly for postal votes (60% more likely to vote if postal ballot requested) via on and offline activity, especially:
· students
· women
· the under 45s
· non British EU nationals living in the UK
· non British EU nationals (and their families) living in the UK
· commonwealth citizens - these can be further split into regions, eg Asia, ANZ, Carribbean etc
· BAME voters.
· Particularly anyone living outside London.
KEY MESSAGES:
· Importance of voting
· Unlike a Westminster election, every vote counts!
· Pointing people to useful tools to help ‘make their minds up’
· Remind students they can be registered to vote both at home and at their term time address
· Guide our supporter base to spread the word on signing up to vote, GOTV on the day
INDICATIVE TIMELINE:
We have only limited time to to get people registered to vote, and then to remind them to vote, with a big surge needed in the final 4 days. Most people do not notice that there is an election until the immediate 24 hours before polling day, however these elections may receive more media attention sooner because of Brexit.
