Breakout Sessions:
Hands-On Tour of the Living Computer Museum
Go hands-on with some of the only working versions of the most important machines in computing history. All computers are restored and interactive, so you can write your own BASIC programs, play vintage computer games like Lode Runner and Karateka, or experience what it was like to use a Teletype. Also, unique to this event, go behind the scenes to see how the museum restores old machines back to working condition.
Talk-Backs with Industry Professionals
Take this chance to meet with professionals in the industry who are working on exciting projects in user experience, business development, programming, women in technology, and social entrepreneurship. After short panel introductions, you'll have the chance to ask questions and discover what their careers entail and how they have prepared themselves for active roles in innovation.
Makers in Action
These workshops will delve into modern prototyping techniques that include 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC routing. You can also explore microcontrollers and robotics to get a first-hand look at how you can engineer solutions of your own imagination and design.
