The First AngelsGlobal Silicon Valley Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit

Zhang Lu Yang is one of the experts and researchers of investment risk (venture) with strong research background, and is one of the earliest of the three experts venture investment research (since the mid-1990s on systemic risk and thematic studies investment theory and practice problem).


Steve Hoffman

Captain of Founders Space. Steven Hoffman is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and the Chairman and Captain of Founders Space. Founders Space has helped hundreds of startups scale their businesses, raise capital and go global.


Ren Wu

NovaMind founder and CEO. Previously, Dr. Wu was a distinguished scientist at Baidu's Institute of Deep Learning. Prior to joining Baidu, he served as the chief software architect of Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) at AMD. Earlier, he was the senior scientist at HP Lab in USA and the principal researcher at HP Lab's CUDA Research Center. Dr. Wu is renowned for the pioneering idea of using GPUs to accelerate big data analytics as well as the outstanding contributions to large-scale clustering algorithms via GPU.

Dr. Wu is also a famous expert in computer game theory. The algorithm he proposed in his Ph.D dissertation named ‘Retrograde Algorithm and Its Application’ is superior to the classic one by, the authority in computer science and the Turing winner, Ken Thompson. With his retrograde theory, Dr. Wu conducted a systematic analysis on Chinese chess endgames and made several important discoveries, thus clearing misunderstanding previously existing in human knowledge. ‘Aegp-aaee’, the first program independently developed by Dr. Wu, won the first place twice in the Olympiad of Computer Chess.


Eugene Zhang

Eugene Zhang is the General Partner and founding member of TEEC Angel Fund. In summer 2010, Eugene co-founded TEEC Angel Fund, a Silicon Valley based super angel fund investing in both US and China startups. He also serves as the Board Member of TEEC (Tsinghua Entrepreneur & Executive Club). TEEC was founded by Tsinghua alumni entrepreneurs in 2001. TEEC promotes technology innovation and entrepreneurship in high tech industries.

Prior to TEEC Angel Fund, Eugene was the founder and CEO of Innospring, a global cross border technology startup incubator in Silicon Valley from its inception to January 2014. Additionally, Eugene founded JEDA Technologies, Inc., in December 2002 and served as President and CEO. JEDA specializes in next-generation SoC design methodologies and provides ESL (electronic system level) verification automation products for leading edge SoC design companies worldwide.


Bill Reichert

Bill Reichert has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and operating executive. Since joining Garage in 1998, Bill has focused on early-stage information technology and materials science companies. He has been a board director or board observer at CaseStack, WhiteHat Security, ClearFuels Technology, Simply Hired, MiaSole, D.light Design, ThermoCeramix, and VisaNow, among others. Prior to Garage, Bill was a co-founder or senior executive in several venture-backed technology startups, including Trademark Software, The Learning Company, and Academic Systems. Earlier in his career, he worked at McKinsey & Company, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and the World Bank. Bill earned a B.A. at Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He was a founding board member and a Chairman of the Churchill Club, and a Board Member of the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs. Currently he is the Chairman of the Small Fund Roundtable of the VC Taskforce and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.


Zhiyu Jiang

Dr. John Jiang is a technical and business architect for major enterprises and government agencies. He currently serves as chief data scientist and big data architect for Walmartcorporate, he was Chief Research Architect for Hitachi America Ltd. R&D driving One Hitachi Transformation developing horizontal solutions in big data, cloud, IoTcorrelating with domain expertise in various verticals, lead solution architect for data center transformation and cloud for Dell Global Services, executive enterprise and information architect for IBM GBS, Enterprise Data Management and Business Intelligence practice leader for BearingPoint, CTO of Homeland Security Line of Business for Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Management and Technical Consultant for leading companies, various roles and responsibilities for leading Silicon Valley software companies such as data center management software (BMC), Internet Security (Verisign), e-Business (Broadvision), ERP (PeopleSoft), Real-time Data Management (GoldenGate) during the .com boom.


Xue Hong

Hong Xue is a partner at Cybernaut Investment Silicon Valley office. Hong has over 20 years of high-tech industry experience in enterprise software (including Mobility, Cloud Computing, Big Data,) and venture capital investment. His career includes working at large companies, SME and Start-ups with international working experiences in countries like United States, China and India. He earned an MBA with e-Commerce concentration from Tepper School of Business of Carnegie Mellon University and his B. S. EE in China.


Vitor Prado

Entrepreneur, Lawyer and Investor, and founded Prado Gittelson Group, a venture capital & private equity group based in New York and London. Prado Gittelson Group is built on an innovative approach of investing in global entities from startups to Fortune 500 companies, financing on a project by project basis, connecting PGG, investors and startups via a proprietary online platform. 

Before establishing Prado Gittelson Group, Mr. Prado was an investment professional at Cavi Investment Management in São Paulo, where he was involved in the evaluation and execution of private equity transactions in Real Estate, Oil and Gas across LATAM. Mr. Prado is a former corporate finance professional from PricewaterhouseCoopers.  Mr. Prado was instrumental in bringing the NGO “TECHO” from Chile to Brazil to oversee construction of emergency housing and social empowerment programs for the benefit of over 78,000 families with more than 400,000 volunteers deployed in 19 countries across Latin America. Mr. Prado is now raising capital and working to bring more visibility to “TECHO” in the United States and Europe.

Mr. Prado has been a guest speaker at several conferences, including the SIEVF Conference in Silicon Valley and the Protohack hack-a-thon in New York in 2015.
