The GC-CXO Forum - Legal Function Clean Page Hackathon
"Weinstein board members claim lawyers hindered sex inquiry" - that was the frontpage headline in The Financial Times on the 22nd October 2017.
But the challenges for the Legal function are not just about dealing with scandals and "elevated ethical pressure" (UCL Survey 2016) but include significant budgetary pressures, risk management and stress.
The purpose of the GC-CXO Forum, which is restricted to pairs of lawyers and business leaders, is to create a space in which lawyers and business leaders can come together and redesign a Legal Function for the 21st. Century.
At this first event - The Legal Function Clean Page Hackathon #cleanpagelegal - attendees will role-play a pitch for an imaginary but substantial in-house contract, using only business plan headings, imagining that the in-house function doesn't yet exist.
How would you design the function from a clean page?
Each attendee will be able to download notes and the final plan from the session which will be facilitated entirely in workshop mode with no speeches or presentations, apart from an introduction.
Tickets, which are restricted to pairs of lawyers - in-house or private practice - and their chosen business partners or vice versa, cost £500 + VAT/Fees per pair (£314.09 per person).
