Toronto Code & Coffee | Third Sunday of Each Month in 2017
Hey you! Have you joined the Ladies Learning Code mailing list? If not, join here.
What is Ladies Learning Code?
We're a Canada wide not-for-profit organization providing women, *men and youth the opportunity to learn beginner-friendly technical skills in a social and collaborative way. We're all about showing people that learning to code can be fun!
*Men are welcome to attend (and they do!), but we encourage you to bring an additional female learner where possible
What is Code & Coffee?
Want to continue working on a project you built at a workshop? Have a project of your own you need some help and inspiration to complete?
Join us for Code and Coffee!
Code and Coffee is an informal meetup to get together and code in a fun, social and collaborative environment. If you love our workshops you'll enjoy connecting with others from the Ladies Learning Code community of learners and mentors. Similarly to our workshops, we'll have some mentors available to help you with your projects but the real benefit of Code & Coffee is to connect with other learners and work through solving problems together!
There are no requirements to attend other than the willingness to collaborate and learn something new. Bring a project or we'll have some available that you can work on! All levels of expertise are welcome just RSVP and bring your laptop and powercord.
Join us for July's Code and Coffee's Activity!
For July’s Code & Coffee, we will be hosting a design session for our annual Teen Club hackathon! A hackathon is an event where people with a variety of skills come together design solutions and/or products to address a particular problem, issue, or need. This year’s hackathon will be taking place in December, and will be Ladies Learning Code’s third hackathon for teens! We’re looking for your input on what the hackathon will look like.
The design session will be led by Carolyn Van, Director of Youth Programming at Ladies Learning Code. Code and Coffee is open to all Teen Club members to join and contribute their ideas! Prior experience attending hackathons isn’t necessary. Even if you haven’t been to a Teen Club workshop or event, this is a great opportunity to start getting involved — we would love to see new faces! For more information, you can read about our first ever Teen Club Hackathon in December 2015 here: http://ladieslearningcode.com/ladies-learning-codes-teenclub-initiative-takes-off/
