How life scientists can work with data scientists to predict and prevent ill health. 

Health and wellbeing represents the largest use case for AI and other frontier technologies. This provides humanity with a unique opportunity to shift health service delivery from the sick to the healthy and thus improve the lives of billions.  This moonshot is a session for experts from diverse backgrounds to visualise what health and wellbeing will look like is 5 years from now.  We will hear the thoughts of a few experts before forming into multi-discipline teams to explore how combining exponential technologies might deliver a 10x improvement in public health.

Speakers

Colin Thomas
Colin is the Clinical Lead Physiologist for BMI Healthcare, currently developing their Primary and Preventative offering and Corporate Health Assessments in particular. He has spent 10 years in the private health sector working in preventative healthcare, previously with both Bupa and Nuffield Health. He has worked in hospitals, clinics, gyms and fitness centres all over the UK, with a mix of self -pay clients, corporate clients, private insurance and professional sports people. He works with elite Olympic endurance athletes based in Kenya and Ethiopia as part of their coaching and healthcare teams in their quest to reach the top of the podium. He is a regular speaker at conferences and his written articles are often published in the running press.

Olesya Myakonkaya
Dr Olesya Myakonkaya is an Innovation Consultant. Her expertise lies in the cross-section of user-centred design, scientific research, and communication.Olesya has a decade of innovation experience - from innovating at scale for GSK, where she designed new products and services, and led organisational changes, to designing and facilitating innovation workshops at non-profits, such as the Royal Aeronautical Society.Dr Olesya Myakonkaya is a Design Thinking Lead at OpenIDEO and the founder and facilitator of Mars Nation, a series of sold out hackathons which bring together experts and novices to solve grand space exploration challenges.

Ayokunmi Ajetunmobi, PhD 
AJ is a scientist, entrepreneur and story-teller driven by opportunities to accelerate research discoveries into clinical applications. As Accelerator Manager for BioCity Group he works with innovators and entrepreneurs to build scalable businesses that solve significant healthcare challenges. His previous roles have included co-founder of a conference organisation, business development for a corporate-backed biotech startup competition and business development for machine-learning startup for genomic medicine.
