Unbound Ideas: Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship Summit

Unbound Ideas Summit brings together Victoria’s start-up community for an engaging day of interactive workshops, discussions and big ideas on social innovation. With an exceptional line-up of speakers, facilitators and great food, the event aims to: Showcase Victoria’s entrepreneurial diversity and talent - particularly in the social innovation sector, Strengthen engagement in the State’s start-up community, Support budding and existing entrepreneurs through skill and network development and, Have a great time while we are at it! The summit agenda has been co-designed with the Victorian startup ecosystem and various community groups to ensure the content is engaging and relevant to the sector. The summit also aims to be as inclusive as possible, adopting a pay-as-you-can ticketing model where all are welcome. Breaking the mould of traditional conferences, Unbound Ideas will also feature various hands-on and participant-led sessions that focus on the specific needs, experience and expertise of the attendees present. Other highlights include a Great Debate with leading social enterprise experts from our local start-up ecosystem, and an improv ‘stand-up & pitch’ contest with local comedians. This misses and mistakes in an honest and open forum. We will hear from a panel their biggest mistakes, what happened and what they learned along the way. Workshop: Storytelling & Communication Learn how to share your personal and business story in a practical and hands-on session. Turn ideas, experiences and your journey into a pitch for investors, customers and partners. Workshop: Work-life balance and self care as an entrepreneur There’s more to life than the hustle - and this session uses movement, community and connection to support the entrepreneur and achieve some work-life balance. This session is ighly interactive with skills that apply beyond this session. Parallel Sessions 2: Panel: The Great Debate Clash of Ideas - in this panel we hear from giants from the startup ecosystem. Topic and speakers TBC. Workshop: Navigating Finance Money, money, money - it matters! In this masterclass session, we explore financial options available to new startups and the practical tools needed to get an idea funded. Migrant Entrepreneurs: Stories from the Field Melbourne is home to numerous inspiring stories of migrant entrepreneurship - this session dives deep and we learn from the remarkable innovators that now call Melbourne home. Parallel Sessions 3: Participant-led Seesion: Power to the People Over to you! This session is a facilitated workshop designed to hear ideas from the crowd, the burning thoughts and expertise is in the room. More engagement, less sitting quietly. Workshop: Start Day Intensive Building on the Start Day Hackathon piloted at the Melbourne Knowledge Week,  this session is about community and what it takes to bring your idea to life. Think motivation, action and getting s*** done. Workshop: Creative Leadership & Community Building Let’s make the eco-system work for everyone.
