UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD HACKATHON

Law is the next significant sector going through disruption using AI, Algorithms, Machine Learning and Big Data. We expected lots of innovation in the legal industry, instead, we’ve seen very little. Computer programmers and other developers will be attending our hackathon event to create innovative solutions to solve real challenges in the legal sector. Lawyers, technologists and computer scientists will also be attending to create innovative solutions to solve real challenges in law. Our Keynote Speaker Daniel Pollick is Chief Information Officer with DWF LLP (based in Manchester). Daniel most recently served as DLA Piper’s CIO for more than two decades and is one of the best known and most respected names in legal IT.  DWF has a longstanding commitment to investing in information technology and harnessing new technologies and innovative solutions to improve infrastructure, process and systems as well as to facilitate growth and change across its global footprint. The business has made significant investments in technology in order to improve operational efficiency and communication.  A key area of investment has been in the platforms and systems needed to facilitate agile working, making DWF one of the first legal businesses in the UK to introduce entirely agile offices.
