University of Toronto Data Science Student Challenge 2018
The University of Toronto Data Science Student Challenge is part of a global series of Hackathons. These events are designed to ignite a passion for the amazing things made possible by Data Science and to help students develop the skills necessary to harness the power of analytics.
A variety of learning resources will be made available and the hackathon will suit students with a background in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Analytics and Math.
With amazing prizes, workshops, and swag for all participants, it’s a great opportunity to build your skills, meet other top students, have fun and learn. The University of Toronto Data Science Student Challenge is a collaboration between Microsoft and Univeristy of Toronto.

How much does this event cost?
Nothing!
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Yes, you a current university student. Don't forget your student ID!
What is a hackathon?
Hackathons are events where people compete to build cool projects in under 24 hours. All skill levels are highly welcome, don't be intimidated.
Do I need to have a team?
You're more than welcome to make a team before the event, but many people turn up without a team. So don't worry, we'll help everyone find a team before you start hacking. To be eligible for prizes, your team should have no more than 4 people.
Will there be food?
Absolutely, and lots of it!
What should I bring?
A laptop is essential. Bring all the chargers you need, cables and anything else you need.
Can I sleep at the venue?
Unfortunately the venue will be closed overnight between 11pm and 9am! We still encourage you to continue hacking overnight, with mentor support available on both days.
