Jody Belliveau, Director of Product - With over a decade of experience producing digital video entertainment products like LStudio.com and Disney Movies Anywhere for companies Lexus and Disney - Jody welcomed the opportunity to work with Wevr in helping them create their VR distribution platform called Transport. Before her career in technology, Jody started designing clothes at the age of 10 and her first job was as a costume designer for stage productions. She has always been a passionate connoisseur of vintage and modern fashion and it a pleasure for her to mesh these two worlds together in tonight’s panel.
Theresa Duringer is the CEO of Temple Gates Games, maker of the multi-award winning VR game Bazaar. This game has been a featured launch title on Gear and Rift and has recently released on Vive. Before hopping aboard the hype-train of futurism, she co-founded Turtle Sandbox, the SF based game studio behind the hit multiplayer artillery RTS, Cannon Brawl. Her decade of experience working in AAA on games like Spore, Sim City, Godfather, and The Sims has given her the experience to build the top VR game studio in Silicon Valley.
Gemma Busoni is the COO at Discovr Labs, a VR startup that focuses on immersive educational experiences. Formerly, she worked with Hack Club, helping high school students across the nation start and lead coding clubs and CalTech. She organizes CodeDayLA, serves on the LA Mayor's Y Council, and loves hackathons.
Rebecca Mandel is a seasoned Marketing professional and entrepreneur with 10+ years of experience working with startups and multinational corporations. She is a VR consultant in the field of medical applications and is part of a steering team of academics and medical professionals helping hospitals use VR to prepare patients for major surgeries and post-operative rehabilitation. Previously, she led VR marketing initiatives for Samsung, working closely with the company’s VR portfolio companies. She is on the advisory board of AR VR Women’s Academy.
Thea Baumann is an Australian creative technologist and CEO/ Founder of Metaverse Makeovers (MM). MM's first product is the patent pending Metaverse Nails - collectible fashion accessories that interact with an AR social app. Thea has racked up considerable time in China, having explored the frontiers of China’s Shanzhai electronic design ecosystem and Post-90s digital culture. Her expertise lies in HCI, commercialising AR and emerging tech on emerging markets, and innovations management. She is the inventor and designer of MM’s products and social experiences.
Erica Lee is a 22 year old entrepreneur and the Founder/CEO of AstrX, an international Marketing Automation company, and Meteor360, a VR Education company with its flagship products: “Haven,” a personal development immersion program. She’s the former founder/host of the XPRIZE Think Tank in San Diego and also did various projects at Harvard School of Public Health’s BioImaging Lab, Johns Hopkins Whiting School and NeuroGym by John Assaraf.
