Vassar College Hackathon
Why Go To CommunityHack?
Do you love to code? Do you want to love to code? Do you want to hang out with awesome people and make cool things? Do you want to hear about how technology influences the ~real world~? You can do any or all of these things and more at CommunityHack. Whether you have never touch a computer before in your life or you recently hacked into Google's motherboard, we would love for you to attend!
CommunityHack is a way to bridge the gap between Vassar CS Majors and Vassar students in other departments as well as local high school and community college students in order to provide them with the opportunity to explore innovative applications of Computer Science. Dance, music, art, video games? CS can be incorporated into all of that and more!
This year, our CommunityHack will feature:
1. A Hackathon Room- Participants can come by to observe and help with current projects in the Vassar CS department as well as create their own!
2. A Workshop Room- CS majors and guests will be holding workshops and giving presentations about coding, working in tech and so much more!
3. A Presentation Room- Participants can work on projects while learning about other presentions currently being worked on at Community and work from Hack Days in other places
4. A Break Room- Come and chill in the break room. Snacks, beverages, swag and fun people. It's a great way to take a break and meet new people.
5. Free Lunch and Dinner- FREE FOOD. Eat some yummy food that accomodates any dietary restrictions you may have!
We're hoping that CommunityHack can teach people how wonderful and relevant Computer Science is!
** Individuals with disabilities requiring special accommodations should contact the Office of Campus Activities at least 72 hours in advance of the event. Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5pm at 845-437-5370.
