VR Games Hackathon @ AJ&Smart
Christmas is coming, some of us still don't have presents, so why not give your loved ones a prototype of a cool game you came up with last minute?
Well, it's not exactly last minute and it's still just a prototype, but we guarantee your wives, husbands, children, dogs, pet rocks etc. will definitely love it and you might even win something cool.
And if you don't have any of the above, don't worry – you'll still have an amazing time getting drunk in VR at the AJ&Smart office.
Okay whatever, what exactly is this about?
This is a two day hackathon for creating VR games. Instead of trying to make something incredibly pretty, we will focus on coming up with and solidifying a concept. Then we will fine tune it and make it work for humans. Be prepared for a lot of hands-on doing, but also failure. This is all part of the plan. Some failures produce better learnings than positive results.
What are the requirements to participate?
You should be familiar with a creation tool for VR. It can be Unity, UE4, or even a 360 camera, but it's important that you can not only talk about what you imagine, but also able to demonstrate it.
You will have access to the HTC Vive, Google Cardboards and the Microsoft Hololens.

What can I win?
That's a secret.
Why am I paying 35€ for this?
There will be lunch and dinner on Saturday, and a prize for the winning team. Also beer, in case you function better when drunk.
What's the schedule?
The first day AJ&Smart will teach you how to come up with a solid concept and get creative with a group of people you never met before.
By the end of the first day you will be starting with your prototypes, and day two is for polishing the prototype and proving (or disproving) the concept. Even failure is worth presenting, as long as something is learned!
At the end of day two we will present our prototypes and declare a winner. You will be able to spend day two wherever you want, including in our office to get hands-on help, but you should be back by 19:00, so we can all wrap up.
We're excited to see you all!
