Hacking for Solutions

Virtual Reality (VR) is growing rapidly especially in the fields of health-care and rehabilitation.

While this technology makes therapy more fun, challenging and measurable, the state of VR is still in its infancy. The VR4REHAB partners, including The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Teesside University are leading specialists in the treatment of childhood and adult disability and pain management. Together with partners from industry, universities and rehabilitation clinics, we aim to develop new VR-applications that promote better function and outcomes for patients and children with disabilities.

The three-year project VR4REHAB will change rehabilitative care dramatically. For this innovative power we need: IT designers, Programmers, Developers, Entrepreneurs, Health Care Professionals AND patients and young people with disabilities.

During the Hackathon 2018 VR4REHAB, we will bring these groups together in intense and focussed sessions.

The ingredients: 2 days (free of charge), various teams, multiple ideas and a load of innovations.

36 hours over 2 days of fun filled inspirational hacking, inc opportunities to develop 'Pitching Skills', finishing with awards for best ideas to be put forward for project development.

Please note that the organisers reserve the right to review all applications.  You will be notified by email from the organisers by 15th June, if you have been successful in securing a place at the Hackathon.

The new General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") comes into effect on 25 May 2018.  By registering your interest, you confirm that you consent to us maintaining your email address on our mailing list for the VR4REHAB project.
