The third edition of the EU Datathon has been officially launched on 28 January 2019 by the Publications Office of the European Union, in partnership with the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The EU Datathon is a growing-in-popularity event aiming to further stimulate the use of open data issued by the European Union. It allows competitors to showcase their data skills and innovative ideas. Furthermore, it offers them the opportunity to network and gather support in order to continue developing their ideas after the competition.
The challenges
Participants are invited to develop apps and interactive visualisations offering new services or public information insights to citizens, public authorities and businesses. They have to use at least one dataset made available by the EU Institutions, Agencies and other bodes and combine it with at least one dataset of the competition’s partners.
Camunda Hackday – the one about integration

The event
Camunda is hosting a one-day hack! Join us on Saturday January 26th, 2019 for an integration challenge on the Camunda engine. Learn how to integrate and orchestrate new systems and technologies in any code, ranging from back-end languages to front-end frameworks and data sources. We’ll keep you fueled with snacks and drinks – all you need to do is integrate.
Participants from all software disciplines and backgrounds are welcome, whether you’re a student or a pro. You can sign up as a team (4-5 people) or join one at the event.

Snap4City is an open source framework and a living lab, providing tools to quickly create a large range of smart city applications exploiting heterogeneous data coming from Helsinki, Antwerp, Florence, Tuscany) and enabling services for stakeholders by IOT/IOE, data analytics and big data technologies.
Snap4City applications support multiple paradigms as data driven, stream and batch processing, thus allowing to create dashboards, IOT applications, Web and Mobile applications, Data Analytics, etc.
We have decided to launch this hackathon because we are constantly looking for innovative ways to live more responsibly and we think that a project on sustainability, sharing, collaboration, could concretely improve people's lives and help build the planet in which we would like to live.

Key points
The Snap4City Hack is a big hackathon on the topics of Smart City and IOT.
The hackathon is taking place from January 21 to March 15,
All the projects will be hosted by Snap4City.org.
All submissions must be developed and/or uploaded on Snap4City.org. In order to take part to the hackathon, you have to register first on Snap4City and then sign up to the Hackathon by using the above link. The early registration on Snap4City will get you at role Manager, while Hackathon participants will be immediatly passed at AreaManager to provide them the access to the needed development tools.
The great thing is that you can register and choose to run for Helsinki or Antwerp, using their corresponding data.
CODEMOTION - Java Online Coding Challenge

complete the challenge in the shortest amount of time with a score of above 80% and be in the top 10 of all the participants. The number of participants has to be at least 100 in total all ongoing challenges included. So go on and invite your friends too! The duration of this test is up to 90 minutes.
