The inaugural ATHackathon aims to create innovative tools to track & analyze data related to trafficking. Human Trafficking is a multi-billion dollar criminal industry that enslaves over 20 million people around the world. Reliable data remains a major challenge at the heart of anti-human trafficking efforts. Lack of data = lack of issue legitimacy, data informed solutions, and public awareness. Come and be part of a change!

This is a hackathon on Internet of Things (IoT) to collect and retrieve data from Internet-connected sensors. Participants interested in coding mobile apps or hacking hardware solutions will get to widen their community and will be challenged to build Smart City applications using local government data, APIs and any hardware of their choosing. Experts will be onsite to assist with your build and answer any questions. So join this hack hardware, build apps/mobile apps, get fed, compete for prizes across different categories and most importantly meet new people and scout for teammates to work on new or current projects!

At this Hackathon developers will have approximately 24 hours to turn their ideas into applications using their own programming skills and design, working in teams of 4 people, with the support of experts. Teams will be free to use any programming language in order to develop applications that improve the community. What you will need is your laptop with charger, cell phone charger, gadgets, blanket or sleeping bag for the night, personal cleaning articles. The event is completely free of charge and anyone who has the skills to develop software (students, programmers, freelancers and anyone who knows develop code) is welcome!

The Freedom of Information Act is a powerful tool for citizens to keep the government accountable. The open-ended FOIA hackathon is inviting all journalists, programmers, designers, and academics to work on a FOIA-related projects using data. You can use any dataset you wish, but you’ll also be provided with data from MuckRock, FOIA Machine, iFOIA, and FOIA.gov.

This is a Hackathon with main aim to provide a tangible solution to assist the challenge of patient flow. Patient flow is a complex and difficult challenge for all organisations. Colleagues from different departments from across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will explore together the patient journeys. Real data and patient journeys will be used to develop a shared understanding of patient flow throughout the Hospital, in order to collaboratively identify where the focus should be put on to make improvements.
