List of hackathons about energy in 2016

UNT Sustainability Hackathon will give students the power to affect real change towards a more sustainable campus.  The We Mean Green Fund has partnered with Innovation Greenhouse to host a hackathon the weekend prior to Earth Day 2016.  Students will work to solve important issues of campus sustainability related to water conservation, energy conservation, biodiversity, alternative transportation, air quality, carbon footprint, and other issues of environmental concern. All projects will have the opportunity to submit a complete proposal to the We Mean Green Fund, and can have their vision of a sustainable campus brought to reality!  Participants will have access to experts in the sustainability field, and thought-provoking lectures will be held. Leave your mark at UNT, reduce UNT’s impact on the environment, and gain valuable experience in project leadership as you collaborate to hack UNT’s sustainability!

This mini-hackathon will focus on WebRTC. You will be able to mash-up with other capabilities such as Internet of Things (drones), Artificial Intelligence (Watson and Amazon Alexa), Messaging (Slack), and lots more. Developers get access to the WebRTC Global Summit and the TADHack-mini London winners and runners up pitch at the WebRTC Global Summit for even greater exposure.

The Advance Team and GDG ENSI, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and the Digital Economy Technologies, are organizing the first edition of their flagship event "Hack4TN". The theme of this event is "Young Gathered For A More Sure Tunisia". A theme that applies to both the field of ICT as well as any other area. Be prepared for a unique experience! Hack4TN will include: a panel discussion where experts will be invited to discuss a topic related to the theme, lectures presented by national and international renowned speakers, a hackathon where young programmers develop an application that could really contribute to the development of Tunisia, booths where partners can showcase their companies and their products, and several workshops on various themes!

The Unearthed hackathon is a 54-hour long open innovation event for software developers, engineers, data scientists, designers, and industry insiders to come together and develop prototype solutions to energy and resources sector challenges. Participants will have a chance to work on proprietary industry data as well as data from our government partners. Cash prizes and real business opportunities are all up for grabs. There will be a range of challenges from global resources companies as well as proprietary data. If you don’t have a team, you can form one at the prelaunch event and on the opening evening.

Come to this 24-hour hackathon for you to code for a better environment! Around a 100 professionals, designers, programmers, hackers and innovators will be present to work togethe on one goal: creating the best, most innovative concept to improve the climate in the Dutch cities. Not only will you contribute to making the environment more liveable, you and your team can also win up to € 3000!

The Open Energy Data Hack Days will be held on two different locations and under the label make.opendata.ch with as slogan "We go where the energy is coming from"! This event is for developers, visualiser, thinkers, designers, journalists, and interested Energiespeizalisten. Please bring your own hardware the rest will all be provided to you. Come and help to increase the energy efficiency in future Switzerland!

SOCIHACKS is a hackathon organized in honor of earth month in collaboration with the Small Business Institute of California State University Channel Islands. This event will provide an interactive hackathon where 100 young girls (ages 9-12) from underserved areas of Ventura County will get to work together in teams to develop websites and videos focused on raising awareness about the environment.

This hackathon is organized by Philips lighting for the Philips Hue Lighting platform. Participants will be provided with the SDK for philips Hue for Apple and Java platforms which can be used for developing apps. REST APIs are also available which can be used directly to communicate with the HUE system. This is a 48-hour hackathon organized by Cisco on mobility, energy, IoT and DevNet technos! Developers, makers, designers will be provided with Cisco's new technos - Flare, IoX, DMo, Tropo, EIot etc. but also with many technical sessions to introduce them during a workshop before the hackathon.
