Scientists, artists, programmers, storytellers, students, makers, and space enthusiasts in Brisbane and throughout Queensland! Rodney Persky and Olena Tymchenko invite you to participate in the 2019 NASA Space Apps Challenge, Brisbane. At this 48-hour global weekend hackathon, you'll be challenged to address challenges in Earth science and space exploration.
Two winning teams from each location will be nominated for global judging. Your team will create a short video project demo and present it to a jury of NASA experts for the chance to win a trip to NASA's Kennedy Space Center for a rocket launch!

ENERGIZE IT: Smart Energy Hackathon

Wer gerne an seiner eigenen Idee zum Thema Smart Energy, Monitoring und Metering arbeiten und in kleinen Teams gemeinsam innovative Anwendungsfälle oder Prototypen entwickeln möchte, ist beim Energize IT-Smart Energy Hackathon genau richtig. Der Hackathon findet am 28. und 29. September 2019 in Karlsruhe mit einer Fachjury statt. Während auf alle spannende Kontakte und jede Menge Erfahrung wartet, dürfen sich die ersten drei Gewinner-Teams zudem über Geld- oder Sachpreise freuen.
Über den Hackathon
Für den Energize IT-Smart Energy Hackathon am 28. und 29. September 2019 werden Programmierer und Nicht-Programmierer gesucht, die gerne an ihren eigenen Ideen zum Thema Smart Energy, Monitoring und Metering arbeiten und gemeinsam in kleinen Teams innovative Anwendungsfälle oder Prototypen entwickeln möchten.
Wer kann mitmachen?
Jeder, der selbst Strom nutzt, kann mitmachen. In jedem Team sollten aber mindestens ein bis zwei Programmierer sein, die Ideen auch entwickeln können. Insgesamt gibt es Raum und Platz für maximal 42 Hacker. Die Mentoren vor Ort freuen sich, den Teilnehmern mit Rat und Tat zur Seite zu stehen.
Was erwartet die Teilnehmer?
Die Teilnehmer arbeiten gemeinsam mit einem bis maximal vier weiteren Interessierten an einem Projekt und erwecken ihre Ideen zum Leben. Nachdem bis zu 26 Stunden gehackt wurde, werden die Prototypen vor einer Fachjury präsentiert. Jeder der vier Juroren lässt seine Expertise mit in die Bewertung einfließen, sei es aus der Forschung, der Softwareentwicklung oder aus der Energiewirtschaft.
Aqua Agents: The Hackathon

GE Renewable Energy is recruiting students to help imagine new services and innovative solutions for hydropower with its internal hydro teams, at its first hackathon. The objective: gather the best profiles to create the Aqua Agents special unit and reinvent hydropower!
Each student will join a team composed of GE Renewable Energy employees, and will be assigned to one of the 4 following national priority missions:
The power of data: deep dive into GE hydro plants data and imagine new services
Industry 4.0 challenge: reinvent hydro plants by integrating digital solutions into the current processes
A new ally: conceptualize a new hydro plant working under an unusually low flow restraint
The silence of the plants: imagine the quietest system for the plant to avoid disturbing civilians.
