The Hack for Good is a hackathon organized by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to solve problems with one of the great transformations of our time: the aging population. A unique event in Portugal, which will be placed in the same space experts in technological and social areas to find innovative solutions. If you have interest in social causes, join the doctors, managers, designers and engineers, and discover over 2 days of programming and development how you can help change the world!

This is the second edition of Space Apps Lyon together with NASA's international innovation. Participants will meet, sympathize and form teams to solve real problems of humanity on earth and in space. There will be more than 10 000 participants in 160 cities in the world! Space Apps will take place over one whole weekend to produce solutions for challenges provided by NASA themselves! The event is mainly aimed for developers, but is open to everyone regardless of their skills! Access to a mobile FabLab will be offered and meals are included. The six different themes offered by NASA include: Earth, aerospace, solar system, space station, travel to Mars and technology.

Digital Harbor presents the Abilities Hackathon, a collaborative effort to engage the tech community in solving the needs of people with impacted abilities

This is a hackathon aimed to code solutions for declining catches, destruction of the marine environment, help fishermen from developing countries and other growing challenges in today;s marine environment. An event for solving the problem of sustainable fishing bringing together developers, designers, project managers and subject matter experts to create applications, systems and tools.

SkyWatch hosting the NASA International Space Apps Challenge for the Waterloo Region. This hackathon will attract Waterloo’s top tech and non-technical talent including: developers, makers, citizen scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs who will be asked to work non-stop for 48 hours to address NASA-designed challenges. The two winning solutions from the Waterloo challenge will move on to compete with other winners from across the globe, to be judged by the NASA International Space Apps Challenge team. This year’s event will include the unveiling of Canada’s first ever accelerator focused on space startups. The Canadian space industry will make this program become a reality right in the Waterloo district. More details will be reveal at the event.

This is the first university hackathon organized by UPP and MSTCUPP. Come to develop innovative proposals for solving the problems in the state of Hidalgo, have fun and learn! All team member will need to bring their computing and others necessary equipment for the development of their projects.

This is a Hackathon with main aim to provide a tangible solution to assist the challenge of patient flow. Patient flow is a complex and difficult challenge for all organisations. Colleagues from different departments from across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will explore together the patient journeys. Real data and patient journeys will be used to develop a shared understanding of patient flow throughout the Hospital, in order to collaboratively identify where the focus should be put on to make improvements. Join this event to optimise the patient journey through the health care system by improve the patient flow.

THEPort Association in partnership with the Geneva Creativity Center (GCC), the SITG, the HUG and TPG have have joined together to organize this Open Geneva Hackathon 2016. Come along to form teams with individuals from the most various fields and backgrounds and with different age, gender and agenda, to face the challenge of creating your projects’ prototype in a tight 60 hours workshop and present it. The topics you will be asked to chose from are: Navigation for People with Visual Impairment, Forecasting Emergencies, On-line Hospital Registration, Health Data Collecting and Handling, Preventing Suicide by Tech-Assisted Means, and Sensor Sock for babies with Clubfoot. The public is welcome to attend the final presentations and entrance is free of charge!

Hack for Homelessness is a hackathon to help contribute to solving homelessness! Aside from giving a few dollars from time to town it is hard to know how to help homelessness. In Silicon Valley, the place where there’s an app everything, they have work to do when it comes to addressing their neighbor’s basic human needs. Join the Homeless Hackathon together with unhoused individuals, developers, designers, marketers, and problem-solvers from across the technology and nonprofit sectors to design solutions to homelessness. Food and drink will be provided.

This is a hackathon on communication in education for developers, parents and early years teachers with ideas for edtech products for children aged 4 to 8. Your challenges will be to develop a literacy app or platform to help children to articulate and express their ideas and experiences verbally, to other challenges involved in school readiness including physical well-being and motor development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, and cognition and general knowledge, creating a platform for parents to get connected to other parents.
