About The Event This Deep Dive event is a weekend long event in collaboration with Brain Awareness Week. This Deep Dive is aimed at bringing together students from across disciplines to develop creative applications of neuroimaging data. Teams will compete to develop the most innovative brain-computer interface (BCI) application, using open-source software packages and data. No prior background or experience needed to participate! Students in Neuroscience, Computer Science and curious data geeks are all welcome! Teams will be formed on Friday evening. Mentors will be on hand to provide support. It's all about fun, creativity and learning!  There will be free food and beverages! Cash prizes will also be awarded in two categories: Machine Learning and Applications. A collaborative, community driven project by Pivigo (proud sponsosrs of S2DS) and Microsoft How will the Crossrail line change London? In December 2019, London will unveil its newest Crossrail line cutting journey times for many commuters. Using public transportation, housing, and geographic datasets, participants are asked to explore the impact of this new line on London. You are encouraged to think outside the box to come up with models and visualizations that answer questions about the effects of the Crossrail line. For example;How will the Crossrail line affect London’s traffic problems?What is the potential time-savings, if any, of daily commuters? What effect, if any, will this have on housing prices? Datasets Pivigo will provide datasets from TFL, National Rail, and the City of London, hosted on an Azure platform Tools The datasets will be hosted in a Azure data lake, access and support to Azure hosted ML SDKs, Jupyter notebooks, and VMs will be provided. Participants are free to use their own resources. Who are we looking for? We invite anyone from beginner to advanced in the field of data analytics and data science to participate. Participants can be students, faculty, government workers, members of NGOs, or industry members. We welcome both teams and lone wolves. It is beneficial if you can code.
