OPEN GENEVA HACKATHON-Final Presentation

THEPort Association in partnership with the Geneva Creativity Center (GCC), the SITG, the HUG and TPG have have joined together to organize this Open Geneva Hackathon 2016. Come along to form teams with individuals from the most various fields and backgrounds and with different age, gender and agenda, to face the challenge of creating your projects’ prototype in a tight 60 hours workshop and present it. The topics you will be asked to chose from are: Navigation for People with Visual Impairment, Forecasting Emergencies, On-line Hospital Registration, Health Data Collecting and Handling, Preventing Suicide by Tech-Assisted Means, and Sensor Sock for babies with Clubfoot. The public is welcome to attend the final presentations and entrance is free of charge!

Your challenges will be to develop a literacy app or platform to help children to articulate and express their ideas and experiences verbally, to other challenges involved in school readiness including physical well-being and motor development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, and cognition and general knowledge, creating a platform for parents to get connected to other parents.

In an era of Connectedness, we still face rising tides of loneliness, need for authentic connection through our life course and the challenge of preserving vitality. Clinicians, Carers, Consumers and Policymakers are navigating their way through the maze of technology changes + challenges, but need help sorting signal from noise, fact from fiction, progression from stasis and decay.
Our Hackathon experience at the University of Newcastle will give early career exposure and cross-disciplinary design experiences to ICT, Design, Business and Health students, informed and shaped by experienced clinicians, consumers and carers on contemporary healthcare issues. Their challenge, over 54hrs, will be to design + develop 1st generation technical prototypes to address a healthcare problem with targeted use of contemporary technology. In doing so, our event attendees will develop a strong working understanding of the challenges, constraints and possibilities in an intensive crucible of health+tech curiosity.
Let's work together to see what can be cooked up with the right ingredients of our 5CFocus: Care, Clinical Skills+Experience, Connectedness, Creativity and Cutting Edge technology. Our event winners will be eligible for a range of cash and in-kind incentives from local companies and Sydney technology incubators.

However, we're also making remote teaming options possible, so if you want to interact from outside the Hackathon room, you'll still be able to work with embedded teams.
