Everyone is welcome to join this event, whether you’re a student in computer science, engineering, design, or business, there will be ample opportunity to bringing a project to life! The eHUB Hackathon will revolve around building technological solutions to issues ranging from business needs to social conundrums. Participants will have the option of joining a wide range of high-potential eHUB teams. High-performing groups will have a chance to secure summer-long internships to execute on their idea with organizations such as Alberta TechWorks and the University of Alberta Senate or with start-ups including CONNECTIA, EveryRole, FitSet, Intelife, and Tablespace.

Let your creative 8-10 year old become part of a digital storytelling adventure at this kid friendly hackathon, 3-hour workshop held by the New Media students of Ryerson University. Kids ages 8-10 will be introduced to the world of art and technology by teaching them various softwares such as Pixlr, iMovie and Scratch Programming to develop an interactive story. Inspired by Ryerson University’s Story Hackathon and the META art show, kids will be put into teams and will be given a hackathon challenge, on which they will have to work together to create the most inspiring and creative storybook experience! They will also get a glimpse on how to create wonderful works of interactive art, similar to how the artists are making their pieces in the upcoming Ryerson META art show!

The Amazon team will provide training prior to the hackathon for using Amazon Web Services with the Alexa Skills Kit. Please bring your laptop and any other hardware devices you want to integrate with Alexa. Code Liberation invites is inviting all women who have an interest in making games, websites, apps, and/or interactive physical objects for the Women's History Month hackathon. Take inspiration and learn from some pretty boss ladies, especially in STEM such as Ada Lovelace, Grace Hopper, Mae Jemison, the ENIAC ladies, Donna Haraway just to name a few. We would like to expand on our usual game jam event to focus on a variety of different kinds of artistic endeavors, games, solutions and prototypes that come out of this two week (across two weekends) hackathon. Pick a problem to tackle, a project to explore, or a theme to be creative with. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from and talk to Intel Game Designers and Engineers and there will also be programming workshops, design, paper prototyping, and snacks!
