This is a hackathon where teams of designers, developers, tinkerers and thinkers are invited to get together and build something from start to finish in just 24 hours. You are free to create any technology you like including apps, software or physical products. At the end of the weekend, teams will be asked to pitch their ideas and completed products to a panel of notable judges. There will be a cash prize for overall winner.

This is a hackathon organized for the development of an innovative ideas for developing a mobile app for EFSA. You may participate as an individual or as a team by submitting a prototype of a mobile app that gives access to EFSA’s recent work. The deadline for submissions is 30 June 2016. You should work on your idea before applying. You may not have a fully functioning product when you apply, but as long as the idea is in place, you’re in good shape. The creators of the five best prototypes will be invited to present them at EFSA’s premises, in Parma. By this time, your app should fully work! This is a competition but it’s also a place to meet interesting people and learn something new. Just have a good time and do your best!

Therefor, What Design Can Do (WDCD), the UN Refugee Agency and the IKEA Foundation have grouped together to create ‘The What Design Can Do Refugee Challenge’, A global design competition that calls on the creative community to come up with game-changing ideas for accommodating, connecting and integrating refugees. The Liverpool Collective invite designers, creative thinkers and imaginative trouble-shooters to join this day of collaboration to show the world what can be created with a bit of ‘Scouse Nous’. Come and meet Some ‘Proper Boss Lads’, grab a coffee and Spend the day networking with some of the city’s best. The winning idea from the hackathon will be entered into the official competition, the five best entries of which will receive up to 10,000 euros and more importantly help to turn their idea into a reality.
