Seattle-area hackers, designers, entrepreneurs, social activists, and more! Do you want to help break down the barriers to female entrepreneurship? Want to help more women enter and succeed in the technology sector? AngelHack invites you to come and participate in the Seattle edition of the Lady Problem Global Hackathon Series! You'll get to collaborate with like-minded women—and men—in an effort to build creative solutions to realize the potential of the female half of our world population! You'll be asked to hack a solution to one of the following challenges: Health: Help women access health resources to ensure that they can have successful careers, regardless of whether or not they choose to have children, or Safety: Help ensure that women can be safe when they go to, are at, and come home from work, or Economic Empowerment: Help women gain financial literacy and access the resources they need to grow their businesses, or Culture: Help women access better mentorship and feel less isolated in the workplace. Compete for an array of awesome prizes from sponsors and community partners including Women Who Code, Proctor & Gamble, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Upwork. The winning team in each city location of the Lady Problem Global Hackathon Series will be inducted into the AngelHack social good accelerator, a 12-week mentorship, and acceleration program. Women and people of color! Come and hack for diversity at the Strideforce Hosts Hack for Diversity! You'll be part of a team — architect, business analyst, designer, developer, salesforce admin, and SME. Your challenge will be to prototype an app to help nonprofits better serve their trainees in the effort to get them employed. Collaborate with like-minded developers with aspiring developers to begin to build the application interface.

Our military fights every day to protect all the people we know and love. Join the VetsinTech Fall 2016 Gala to support homeward bound veterans assimilate into the tech community. Money raised from this event will be used to help veterans get jobs, go back to school, and start their own businesses. The gala will have many ways to participate including a sponsor reception, dinner, entertainment, awards, raffles and both live and silent auctions.

Digital game enthusiasts! Think you can design an awesome game that has social relevance? Come along and showcase your techie and design skills at the 2016 Startup Hackathon Monterey Bay. This three-day technology development competition features a "Game-a-thon", where you will collaborate to create Digital Games that solve community problems. You'll work in a team to design and create a game that addresses one of the community problems that will be presented to you.

Come and participate in the Open Research for Academics hackathon sponsored by the British Academy! Collaborate, or work on your own, to take concrete steps to make your own research more open. Maybe you can share a dataset, set up a research blog or project website, plan an engagement project, pitch a news article, or create a video biography or podcast.

Developers, designers, businesspeople! Are you interested in tackling Switzerland's food waste? Come and participate in the FoodHack Geneva. Join like-minded individuals to collaborate in on the creation of solutions to help reduce the amount of wasted food and food-related emissions. You'll be part of a team that is expected to conceive, build, and present a great solution to tackle food waste. Potential solutions might include: »Mobile Apps, »On-Demand Services, »Online Gaming, »Concept Stores, or »Innovative Packaging.

Calling students—ages 18-30—from all academic disciplines: urban planning, civil engineering, environmental sustainability, architecture, biology, business and others! Participants will network and learn from green infrastructure industry experts. Participate in the Green Infrastructure Hack-A-Thon! Design your own green infrastructure! Design solutions to: »Reduce storm water flooding! »Increase shade and decrease energy usage in the city! »Increase the natural plants, insects, birds and livability of our city! The best designs will be made into real green infrastructure!

Softchoice invites female employees, customers, partners and students to participate in the first ever Softchoice Women in Technology Hackathon. You'll spend a day of invention, collaboration, and imagination in one of Softchoice's offices across Canada and the USA.
