How will the Crossrail line change London?
In December 2019, London will unveil its newest Crossrail line cutting journey times for many commuters. Using public transportation, housing, and geographic datasets, participants are asked to explore the impact of this new line on London.
You are encouraged to think outside the box to come up with models and visualizations that answer questions about the effects of the Crossrail line.
For example;How will the Crossrail line affect London’s traffic problems?What is the potential time-savings, if any, of daily commuters? What effect, if any, will this have on housing prices?
Datasets
Pivigo will provide datasets from TFL, National Rail, and the City of London, hosted on an Azure platform
Tools
The datasets will be hosted in a Azure data lake, access and support to Azure hosted ML SDKs, Jupyter notebooks, and VMs will be provided. Participants are free to use their own resources.
Who are we looking for?
We invite anyone from beginner to advanced in the field of data analytics and data science to participate. Participants can be students, faculty, government workers, members of NGOs, or industry members. We welcome both teams and lone wolves. It is beneficial if you can code.

Detailed Plan of INNOVA-Thon 1.0 :
Time given for participants : 12 Hours
All participants would be making unique idea presentations in this span.
They should be talking to the mentors about their idea and should ask for funding from the mentors.
All the mentors should be showing flaws in the ideas of the participants which inturn have to be corrected and the doubts clarified by the team participants.
Teams will be given specific amount of time to pitch their ideas and give their presentations which will be assessed by the mentoring panel for the assignment of the virtual money.
Atlast , the team which has acquired the highest amount of virtual money from the mentors is the winner of the INNOVA-Thon 1.0
Note:
All the mentors would be given the criteria of judging the idea on USP(Unique Selling Point) and a good presentation.
We would be giving a demo before competition starts on how to make a business presentation of a new Idea.

Hackathon- Solve for Safer India

It is a month-long competition divided into 3 phases.
Phase 1- IDEA
Students will register and submit their concept note on an online portal. The concept notes will be evaluated by the experts from IRSC and Bosch to select the teams for the next phase.
Phase 2- PLAN OF ACTION
Selected teams will be required to submit an execution plan of their concept note. The report must clearly state the concept and technical principles that would be used to generate the prototype, the uniqueness of idea and feasibility in terms of execution and finance. Submit the report on the online portal.
Phase 3- ONSITE COMPETITION
The third and the final phase of the hackathon would be held from 30th - 31st March at IIT Guwahati. All selected teams from phase 2 would be working in 36 Hours hackathon to develop a prototype. In between bosch experts would be available there to guide and monitor their work and solve their queries.
Out of those, 10 Teams would be selected (by Bosch) for final presentation and they will showcase their work in front of judges.

During the weekend of February 8th-10th, the American Digital Diversity Initiative will be hosting a hackathon at California State Univerisity Long Beach where more than 150 Hackathon participants (e.g. web developers, designers, UX/UI, project managers, Military Veterans) to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes to develop solutions to improve and the quality of life for individuals in cities and the future of work.
