The Halifax hackathon is the next hackathon ever since the Global Game Jam in January, and this time it will be open to anything: hardware, software, games, etc. In other words, if you can hack it, you can make it! The main aim of this event is for you to make something awesome, meet fellow developers, designers, techies, and startupers in Halifax, show off what you made and win amazing prizes!

This night hackathon includes fun, games, music and amazing prizes while getting to know a bit more about the world around you. You will discover the fun side of Pakistan which not many are familiar with. Come along with your friends, by yourself or with your family, there will also be activities for kids. The main focus of this event will lie on entertainment, then on to ideathons, networking and finally the hackathon.

At this Hackathon developers will have approximately 24 hours to turn their ideas into applications using their own programming skills and design, working in teams of 4 people, with the support of experts. Teams will be free to use any programming language in order to develop applications that improve the community. What you will need is your laptop with charger, cell phone charger, gadgets, blanket or sleeping bag for the night, personal cleaning articles. The event is completely free of charge and anyone who has the skills to develop software (students, programmers, freelancers and anyone who knows develop code) is welcome!

The Central Coast Youth Hackathon is a great opportunity for youths to get hands-on coding without taking big risks by programming in a supported way. This hackathon is aimed at middle and high school students who will form teams together with the support of mentors to build projects in a number of different areas: Web pages, Mobile Apps, Digital Art, and Games. The Memory Palace Hackathon's main aim is for you to develop a software that will allow individuals to build memory palaces in virtual reality or a 3D modeled environment on a 2D screen. Human memory is significantly better adapted to learning spaces and images than it is to learning textual and numerical information. For millennia, memory techniques have been developed and leveraged in oral cultures to store huge amounts of information in human memory through association with space and image. While the core principles of memory palaces can be learned quickly, their application to specific subjects and disciplines remains elusive. By creating a means of building memory palaces in virtual reality, the entire process can be transmitted and demonstrated faster, more effectively, and with digital – as well as human – memory storage. Users will be able to see their own and other people’s memory palaces, as well as be able to create their own memory palaces with built-in guidance and step-by-step instruction. This event will require developers familiar with Ruby programming language and preferably with Sketchup itself. The goal is to code the steps and functions that allow teachers to create instructional modules and students to add their own associations and build their own memory palaces.

Join this hackathon to make Cystic Fibrosis physiotherapy fun! A full weekend to Hack Attack for Lung Health by creating games that transform Cystic Fibrosis physio into a fun, engaging experience. You will be hacking CF devices to turn them into inputs to video games. Amazing prizes will up for grabs and great people from the games industry to work with. The ART//GAMES//HACKATHON is an intensive workshop welcoming all artists, coders and technologists to team up, collaborate and develop prototypes for game art projects.  This hackathon is part of Europeana Space, a large EU-funded project, which examines the creative reuse of online content across a range of media and art forms. The three winning projects will receive further mentoring from Simon Cronshaw from Remix and the chance to participate in a Business Modelling Workshop to further shape their projects and develop business plans. These three finalists will then compete for three months of tailored business incubation from world-class industry leaders.
