NYCVRU invites all those interested in virtual reality to VRathon 2. It's the best way to learn and make friends with like-minded VR people. All skill levels are welcome. This event will give you the basic skills as well as instructions for publishing your hack online. Teams will have an entire week (and additional VR resources) to work on their hack. All projects get submitted (and judged) online. NYCVRU is a volunteer-based VR developer group, specifically focused on the Unity® (free) platform, and best practices for Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift, and other VR hardware.

Sign up for the Summer Hack-a-thon for Teens -- a free event for teens ages 13 - 18 will give you the chance to learn how to create your own video games and build custom controllers. Come for half a day or a full day! If you can only attend in the morning or in the afternoon, you will get to design a single-level game and a simple controller. If you can attend the whole day, you'll get a chance to design a multi-level game and a more complex controller. You'll also learn about career and educational opportunities for video game designers!
